Where innovation meets flexibility – VORTEX is a groundbreaking air-cooled condenser that allows you to operate anywhere without the constraints of cooling water, saving hundreds of litres of water per run. The VORTEX Air Cooled condenser utilises forced air to dissipate heat from vapour and liquid and can be used in place of a water-cooled condenser as well as part of a still configuration for stills with 2" tri-clamp compatibility.
It integrates seamlessly into any 2” tri-clamp setup or with CREATE+ components. A simple turn of a dial controls fan speed and cooling temperatures instantly and puts precision in your hands at every stage.
Key features:
• Connects to 2" tri-clamp distilling accessories
• Replaces a water-cooled condenser or dephlegmator to support cooling water-free distillation
• 304 grade sainless steel product tubes
• 1060 grade aluminium fins
INSTRUCTIONS:
This product can be used in place of a water-cooled condenser as well as part of a still configuration for stills with 2” tri-clamp compatibility.
As vapour or liquid move through the two internal tubes of the condenser, the aluminium
fins absorb the heat, which is then dispersed \by the three integrated air fans. The speed of
the fans can be increased or decreased with the control dial to control the heat dissipation
rate, like adjusting the water flow of traditional water-cooled condensers.
CLEANING AFTER USE: To clean, you can use a hoisehold vacuum cleaner to remove ducst that may collect in the fan grill and the finned tubes over time. To clean inside the product pathway, conduct a distillation run of equal parts white vinegar and drinking water.
CAUTION: Metal fins can have sharp edges. Use care when handling, assembling, cleaning, or storing this unit, and avoid running fingers along the fin surface.
DISCLAIMER: Please note that in certain countries alcohol distillation and the possession of distilling equipment is illegal and permits/licenses may be required. For guidance or advice, contact your relevant local authorities.
What's Included
• VORTEX Air Cooled Condenser Module
• Universal Power Supply (NZ/AU, US/CA, UK, EU)
• Instruction Booklet
Specifications
• Dimensions: H 16.1 cm x W 13.3 cm x D 60 cm
• Weight: 2.2 kg
NOTE: The Still Spirits Boiler Lid and Alembic Dome are designed primarily for small to medium-sized distilling setups that do not have heavy, off-centre attachments. The lid and dome are reasonably flexible and sturdy enough to fit components that are within the following specifications:
• A total column & condenser height up to 1.1 m (3.6 ft) from the lid or dome.
• A total column & condenser weight up to 11 kg (24 lbs), including up to 2 kg (4.4 lbs) of off-centre weight from a swan neck, lyne arm, or condenser running in parallel with the column and offset up to 160 mm (6”) to the main column.
We recommend external support if:
• Your column & condenser exceed the above specifications.
• The lyne arm is not vertical but angled or perpendicular, running away from the column, resulting in significantly distant off-centre weight.
• If the column & condenser are noticeably leaning.
