Magnesium Chloride (Food Grade) - Brewing Water Treatment - 1kg

Achieve the perfect mineral balance in your beer with our Premium Magnesium Chloride. While Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulphate) are common, many modern brewers prefer Magnesium Chloride to add essential magnesium without increasing sulphate levels.

This is the ideal brewing salt for New England IPAs (NEIPAs), Hazy Pales, and Malty Stouts where a soft, round mouthfeel is desired over a crisp, bitter finish.

Why Brewers Use Magnesium Chloride:

• 🧬 Essential Yeast Nutrient: Magnesium is a critical cofactor for yeast enzymes. It promotes healthy fermentation and ensures complete attenuation (sugar conversion).
• 🍺 Enhances Mouthfeel: Adds Chloride ions ( ) which contribute to a fuller, sweeter, and "pillowy" texture in the beer.
• 🚫 Sulphate-Free Magnesium: Allows you to boost magnesium levels to the recommended 10-20ppm range without adding the drying/bittering effect of sulphates found in Epsom salts.
• ✅ Food Grade Purity: High-quality flakes suitable for all food and beverage applications.

Ideal Applications:

1. Water Chemistry Adjustment: Perfect for Reverse Osmosis (RO) or soft water profiles that need remineralization.
2. Malt-Forward Styles: Essential for Stouts, Porters, and Brown Ales where you want to highlight the grain bill.
3. Hazy/Juicy Styles: Helps achieve the high Chloride-to-Sulphate ratio required for the signature "Juice Bomb" texture.

Usage Instructions:

• Dosage: Use a brewing water calculator (like Brewfather, Bru'n Water, or Brewer's Friend) to determine the exact amount needed for your batch.
• Application: Dissolve directly into the Mash or the Boil. It is highly soluble.
• Target: Most brewers aim for 5–20 ppm of Magnesium in their water profile.

Technical Specifications:

• Chemical Name: Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate
• Grade: Food Grade
• Form: White Flakes or Prills
• Solubility: Highly soluble in cold and hot water.

Storage Warning: Magnesium Chloride is hygroscopic (it loves to absorb moisture from the air).

• Keep the bag tightly sealed when not in use.
• If it clumps or turns into a liquid over time due to exposure to air, it is still safe to use, but weighing it becomes difficult.
