Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash) - Pure Food Grade pH Up & Cleaner - 1kg

Master your brewery cleaning routine with our 100% Pure Food Grade Sodium Carbonate (commonly known as Soda Ash or Dense Washing Soda).

In the home brewing and winemaking industry, cleanliness is next to godliness. Sodium Carbonate is a powerful alkaline cleaner that cuts through stubborn protein stains, hop resins, and dried yeast rings in fermenters and kegs without the need for harsh scrubbing. It is also an effective agent for raising pH levels in acidic washes.

Why Brewer's Choose Our Sodium Carbonate:

• Heavy Duty Cleaning: The primary ingredient in many expensive "Powdered Brewery Wash" (PBW) blends. It breaks down organic soils effectively.
• 100% Food Grade: Safe to use on all glass, plastic, and stainless steel brewing equipment.
• Keg & Line Rescue: excellent for soaking dirty kegs, lines, and taps to remove build-up.
• Water Chemistry: Can be used sparingly to raise the pH (alkalinity) of the mash or water profile.
• Eco-Friendly: Breaks down naturally and is safer for the environment than caustic soda.

Common Applications:

1. General Equipment Cleaning (Soak): Dissolve 1-2 tablespoons per 5 Litres of warm water. Soak fermenters, bottles, or kegs for 30 minutes to overnight. Rinse thoroughly with water afterwards. (Pro Tip: Mix 70% Sodium Carbonate with 30% Sodium Percarbonate for a DIY "Oxy-Brew" super cleaner!)
2. Label Removal: Soak bottles in a warm solution to easily slide labels off commercial beer and wine bottles.
3. Acidity Regulation: Use with caution to raise the pH of your water or mash if it becomes too acidic.
